Yes, you can treat open walls directly by spraying diluted Termidor SC directly on the wood. Generally, treated wood will not be reinfested; however, the termites may simply move to another area unless the soil is treated where they are entering the structure.

Once the product is completely dry, there should be no concerns. While it is wet, you might smell it.
I would not want to breathe any air that had continuously circulated over any pesticide, regardless of whether it is natural, odorless, etc. In the pest control and chemical world, anything that kills pests is a pesticide or a device. Legally, there is no category for "non-toxic" and there is no such thing as a non-toxic pesticide. That's like saying a BB is harmless compared to a regular bullet.... think about it.
