I was bitten by a lone star tick in my backyard, so I sprayed all of the shady areas and shrubs with Bifen IT.
7 days later I found a lone star tick on my dog that probably came from my backyard (we did not go for a walk that day and it was not attached). I had a good amount of rain at my property right at 48 hours after my application of Bifen IT.
The label says to not spot treat and to apply where contact with ticks would occur. I thought that meant I could just spray the sunny areas.
My property is fenced. However, I border a creek that deer frequently visit.
I would appreciate any advice you can offer on the subject. Should I just retreat? Do I need to treat the whole yard (5500 square feet) or just shady areas. Do you think I just missed the tick on the initial application, or it migrated over from the creek area?
I've also tried to drag for ticks twice over the last week and haven't found any other ticks. I have kids, so I don't want to apply excess pesticide.
