The KM Ant Pro Bait stations (dispensers) are not traps. They don't trap ants at all. They provide a natural feeding alternative or solution for the ants.
Carpenter ants are outdoor feeders and mostly active at night. They feed on aphids, mealybugs, plant juices such as honeydew, etc. They can also feed on insects.
When placing the Ant Pro system outdoors, adequate time has to be given to allow the ants to find the stations and begin recruiting other ants to feed at them. This in itself can take some time. Weeks in some cases.
Also it is important that the Ant Pro's be charged correctly, and not set in directly sunlight. They have to be placed into areas where carpenter ants would normally feed. Under shrubs, in shaded areas, etc.
Once the ants find the stations and begin feeding, the toxicant which is similar to boric acid, takes up to 30 days to kill the ants that feed on it. Entire process can takes a few months.
However, you can't spray to kill these ants, and this system over time, will eliminate all of you ant colonies on premises and intercept invading ants from other areas.
Don't give up, you've only just begun.
