As a general rule using these fogger properly will not result in an oil residue. However, in some cases if you spray mounts directly and close enough, an oily film could result. These foggers are designed to be used as a SPACE spray. Placing them on the floor and dispensing them on the floor will result in each can treating around 500 cubic feet of area. This is usually enough to kill small flying insects in the air. They will also kill adult fleas on floors. Control of anything else is questionable - especially trying to control anything in a museum. If you are trying to control any insect that is feeding on or breeding inside a taxidermy mount, these foggers are useless. Fumigation of these mounts using a toxic GAS such as Vikane, Methyl Bromide or even Co2 is the only way to penetrate the mounts and kill infesting insects. Unfortunately, these materials are heavily regulated, restricted and not for sale to the general public. You will need to contact a local fumigator or pest control company that performs fumigations to have this done.
