Systemic insecticides such as those containing Imidicloprid are recommended for use against the Southern Palm Weevil aka South American Palm Weevil. Dominion 2L is suitable for this purpose. Applications must be made on a regular basis 2-3 months apart until all signs of the weevil are gone. Spraying the trunk, fronds, and performing a soil drench of the root ball is required.
