Greenway Liquid Ant Bait can be diluted with Bottled or Distilled water, but not tap water. Keep in mind that when it is diluted, it decreases the effective dose of boric acid the ants receive by 50%, which means it will take longer to kill them.
European hornets are not easily controlled unless you can find the nest and eliminate it. If you can't find the nest, then keep a can of wasp freeze handy or at the very least a fly swatter. Keeping flying insects away is usually not possible unless you have an automatic misting system in your yard. These systems will dispense a misting solution several times a day. This is just about the only way to control them 90% or greater. Traps, repellents, etc usually don't work at all for hornets. You can only kill them when they get to close to you!
