Ron, In 2025 I set out 4 KM AntPro bait stations to kill large black ants coming into the house. It worked! Now in 2026, I ordered refil containers & refilled the bait stations in April, 2026. We are seeing black ants again in June, 2026, so I went out to check the bait stations, and 3 out of the 4 still had bait liquid in them. One of the stations was dead empty! I want to make certain I am screwing it down correctly because I see 2 raised arrows on the base of the bait station and 3 corresponding raised arrows on the bait reservoir bulb. One of the arrows is your decal. My question is: If I tighten the reservoir bulb down tight, none of the arrows match up. Also, with the reservoir bulb down tight, the space between the base and lip of the bulb is so small, I can't see where a larger ant could even get into the bait tray? Thanks for any help with this.
The method for tightening (charging) the AntPro dispensers is to first fill them with about 16 oz of liquid or about half full, then spin the base onto the bulb where it is slightly snug. Flip it right side up, and place onto a flat surface, away from direct sunlight, etc. After it is placed, using the arrows as a reference, loosen the base 1/2 turn. The arrows usually DO NOT line up. They are only for a reference. Then tighten the setscrew if desired. The setscrew does not actually tighten the base against the bulb, but can help to reduce movement. The bulb can then be slightly turned back and forth to determine the best bait flow. If liquid bait is leaking down the side of the base then turn the bulb to slightly tighten. This can also be used to determine if the base is too tight. Simply loosen the base to create a small drip, then tighten to stop it. Due to design and manufacturing, there is no exact or precise way to determine if the AntPro is "charged" correctly without using this method. Using the arrows to line up the base and aligning the arrows usually always results in the base being to "tight" and closing off bait flow.
There are very few species of ants that cannot fit between the base and the bulb of the AntPro dispenser. The opening is large enough to allow entry of not only ants, but also small insects such as cockroaches, small bugs, insects, etc.
