Yes you can spray Viper (cypermethrin) on the lawn for flies and other pests. Be sure to keep ll children and pets off the lawn until it thoroughly dries. Removing dog poop daily in most cases is going to be required to keep the flies from being attracted. You can also spray the lawn with bleach (be sure to follow the directions on bottle) to help kill odors and sanitize the area. In most cases if done correctly it will not harm or kill the grass. Be sure to wet the grass first with water. There are lots of videos on YouTube on how to do this.
