how can you prevent drywood termites from accessing a lower roof void via the soffit vents?
We have already sprayed out attic with Boracare to prevent drywood termite entry.
However, we also have a lower roof that is a possible entry point to the house. This roof extends over our kitchen and lanai area. There is no way to access the lower roof void (which is small) except by removing the soffits, spraying Boracare or Timbor up into the void (narrow access), and then replacing the soffits.
Removing and replacing the soffits is apparently a big job - one that we'd have to hire someone to do. We'd prefer to not have to remove the soffits.
Is there any other option you could suggest? Is there a way to spray a product through the tiny soffit vents to at least preventatively treat the potential entry area to the lower roof void?
If so, what products and tools would be needed for this job? We would prefer a borate product so that we do this ONCE and never have to repeat it.
