Mosquito Dunks or "Briquets" contain a bacteria called BT that kills mosquito larvae. It does not kill adult mosquitoes - period. Use this product in standing water areas where mosquitoes breed and propogate. Using it in a anything on your patio would not be a proper use, unless there is standing water inside the pot in which mosquitoes are breeding.
