Centipedes are an outdoor pest. Keeping them out and preventing them from getting indoors is the only way to control them.
Start outdoors by using Talstar or Bifenthrin and spraying / treating the entire lawn and outer perimeter of the home. Spray under decks, shrubs and other areas where they can live and breed.
Talstar P Granules or Bifenthrin granules around the outer perimeter of the home can also provide a second layer of protection.
Indoors Demon WP, Talstar or any good residual insecticide applied to baseboards and under furniture will provide control. Glue traps such as the Catchmaster 288I placed under and behind furniture will help to capture them and also give you a good idea as to how well your overall efforts are. Repeat applications every few weeks may be necessary during peak times of the year.
These products are safe when applied according to label directions and should not pose any issues for your pets.
