Not normally if used properly. Smoke rises and most of the time the mist from CB80 is heavy "water based" and falls. So if it is applied around 1 oz per 1,000 cubic feet then it should not set off the alarm. Basically a 12' by 12' room with a 10' ceiling is 144 square feet and around 1440 cubic feet. it would take less than 2 oz of mist per label directions. That's about a 2 second shot of CB80 into the air. Hardly enough to set off the alarm. An entire can of CB80 is enough to do 17000 cubic feet of space.
