Gentrol is an Insect Growth Regulator that is usually combined with an insecticide and sprayed into pantries, cabinets, etc. It will not effect or kill immature moth larvae or pupae that may be contained inside of food products or bags such as flour, meal, spices, etc. Gentrol is used as part of an overall treatment program, but is not used alone or as a single treatment for food pests. Here is an article on how to kill flour beetles - http://www.epestsupply.com/red-confus...
The information is the same for almost all food product pests - beetles, moths, etc. They are all treated the same way.
