My first experience with a mole

Had a mole come into my home, thinking thru the dryer vent.

I thought it had poohed on the couch, but, now I'm thinking possible babies.

Can they have babies at this time of year? How long can they survive in a home?

We thought it went down the air vent while trying to catch, but heard noises by the washer and dryer (located in kitchen area). Haven't heard anything tonight. This was last night.

Do moles have teeth?

I guess it is possible that a mole could wander into a house, but it sounds like it is possibly a vole or even a mouse. Depending on where you live, it may be a little early in the year for babies to be born. This normally happens in warmer temps such as in March - April. Moles do have teeth, but only eat earthworms and grubs. I have never heard of a mole biting a human.

The best thing to do is to look outdoors and see if there are any holes or tunnels in the yard area. The tunnels are a definite indication of the presence of moles. We have a complete page on moles here - http://www.epestsupply.com/moles.php
